Work inspired by a brief trip to the city of Valencia, located in the east of Spain. The composition of the drawing follows the route of the ancient Turia river, now dried up and transformed into a vast garden which structures the city. The course of the river begins at the top left corner of the sheet, referring to the various bridges that cross the Turia Gardens as well as some historical buildings, such as the fountain in the “plaza de la Virgen”, the covered central market and the botanical garden. The river continues its path to finally pour out at the bottom right corner of the sheet. The focus of the design is on the City of Arts and Sciences by Calatrava, which occupies an essential place on the course.
