Work inspired by the beginnings of the renowned Belgian Art Nouveau architect, Victor Horta. The drawing tells chronologically (from bottom to top) the beginning of his career: his internship with Alphonse Balat – his first official construction, the pavilion of Human Passions – his entry into freemasonry – his first built house, the Autrique house and finally his first mansion with a budget matching the architect’s imagination, the Hôtel Tassel. A walk through these 3 buildings reflects the evolution of Horta’s style, from the Neoclassical references inherited from Balat to the advent of a total Art Nouveau.
