My name is Jade De Meyer. I am a young Belgian artist based in Brussels who uses fine line pen as a medium to make complex and detailed hand drawings.
I have a masters degree and working experience as an architect but have stepped away from this field to dedicate my time fully to art. Nevertheless, my love for historical buildings and cities is an essential source of inspiration in my drawings.
I create large-scale imaginary and surrealist compositions with references to architecture, urbanism, travel, nature, design, fashion,… Each drawing is made to tell a story with an abundance of details and historical anecdotes that become key elements in the narrative. My intention is to invite the viewer into a dreamlike and mysterious space.
Every art piece demands time and precision to create, as well as time to be appreciated by the viewer.
Currently I am working on a series of pieces celebrating Brussels and its heritage buildings.
